A great Cycling trip that had it all. Breathtaking mountain landscapes and coastal scenery with fabulous food and wines to be had. My group of 13 fit club cyclists found this a sometimes stengous tour in the 36 degrees heat in Mid September. There’s really no easy days in the saddle and almost everyday involves long climbs with equally long descents. The roads are very rough in places and you need to keep your wits about you for the cows, mules, dogs & goats that you meet on the narrow roads. Albania is a beautiful mountainous country that will take you back to times of old with its simple ways and graceful charm.
Had the best time, I think group tours are my favourite way to travel it?s great to not have to worry about any logistics but still allows for a lot of flexibility when you get to a place with what you want to do.
Loved every minute. Knowledgeable tour guide enhanced the experience. Gained valuable travelling tips and understanding. 22 days of touring covered a lot of major cities and the optional experiences added local attractions and culture to our adventure.
This tour provided a good overview of the Caucasus region. David was very professional and responded very promptly to requests/questions. Aram, guide from Armenia, was very knowledgeable and hospitable. Together with the driver, they made the visit to Armenia memorable. Nika, guide from Georgia, was very helpful and he would go out of his way to ensure that the visit went smoothly. Overall, a great visit. Thank you very much, tour operator!
I didn't realise how go, go, go it was going to be, but I enjoyed it all the same. I met some great people, and our tour leader was amazing!
I did this exact same trip with this tour operator in 2010. I loved it so much, I did it again in 2017! And again, the Alps were stunning, exhilarating and life-affirming. Every day brings you a new view of green-carpeted mountains and clangy-bell cows (or goats), snow-capped peaks, massive winding glaciers, fresh-scented larch forests, and breathtaking views up and down. The hotel and restaurant people were friendly and generous with their servings and their service. I could do this again.. and again... I've hiked hundreds of miles in the Colorado Rockies and 800 miles of the Appalachian Trail, but this is my favorite trail in the world.
